Copenhagen is considered a global leader when it comes to green energy. Public officers in the U.S. are looking abroad to find inspiration and make their cities more liveable. The Mayors of Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, have recently signed an agreement with Copenhagen. The goal is to share ideas to create more sustainable cities.
One of the most iconic buildings recently built in the city is the Copenhagen International School, located in the Nordhavn district. The building features the largest solar façade in the world, with 6,048 square meters. The 12,000 solar glass panels can generate 300 megawatt hours of electricity per year, which represents half of the school’s annual energy needs.
